It was very important for the Slovak republic to become a member of the European Union. Slovakia is one of the countries which joined the Life Long Learning Programme /former Socrates Programme/. This programme is guaranteed by the Ministry of Education. Comenius is a subprogramme about education which includes education since pre-school age up to the adulthood without age limiting. Comenius is a school partnership between the participating countries.Our school participates in the project Partnership of schools“ WE-WAY TO EUROPE: THE PILGRIMS JOURNEY.“ It is based on a partnership of six schools from five countries in the duration of three years. There is one school from Sweden /Gärdeasskolan/, one school from Estonia /Aravete Keskkol/, one school from Romania /School m.1.Zorleni/ and two schools from Italy /Instituti Einadi-Casaregas-Galilei and Comprehensive Institute/. Our project The Pilgrims Journey supports co-operation between the groups of students and between the teachers. Students have to take part in all parts of the project / planning, realisation and evaluation activities/. Thanks to this project we prepared a new value of our traditional teaching on the base of new creative techniques. Cultural heritage, tradition and a local identity are implemented in our schol lessons /art, music, craft, history, geography, PE, IT, native language and the foreign languages/.
